Enabling Agile Modernization for Global Defense Transportation
Challenge
When the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) launched a sweeping modernization of its global transportation systems, the stakes couldn’t have been higher. The mission required uninterrupted 24/7 operational continuity even as legacy systems were overhauled and new capabilities were fielded under Agile and SecDevOps frameworks.
The Program Executive Office – TRANSCOM (PEO-T) needed expert support to manage risk, cost, performance, and schedule across more than 20 acquisition programs, all while shifting from traditional development approaches to a modern, agile software delivery model.
Solution
OST delivered a comprehensive solution built on six integrated task areas, including engineering, cybersecurity, program management, configuration management, and testing. Our solution embedded cross-functional experts to work shoulder-to-shoulder with PEO-T leaders and technical teams, providing full lifecycle systems engineering, architecture design, program management, and test planning aligned with DoD’s Integrated Acquisition Framework. SecDevOps support across programs enabled continuous integration, automated testing, and rapid fielding of mission-critical updates such as real-time dashboards with performance metrics to drive smarter, faster decision-making.
Outcome
OST’s solution directly enhanced national defense and USTRANSCOM’s preparedness to rapidly move personnel and cargo with a roadmap transitioning USTRANSCOM to an Agile SecDevOps continuous improvement framework while maintaining operational status for all systems and applications throughout the transformation. Our approach enabled the modernization of critical transportation systems with no impact to mission readiness, enabling USTRANSCOM to deploy increased capabilities and more resiliency in support of global contingencies, exercises, humanitarian relief, and homeland security.
