McLean, VA, August 2019: OST, Inc., in collaboration with the DC Office of Zoning (DCOZ), has earned the Government Innovation Public Sector Award. The winners of this award showcase examples of how innovation in the IT Public Sector can dramatically improve the government and its service to the public. This event, held on November 7th, 2019, will bring together the biggest names in government technology.
OST is very proud of our over 15-year relationship with the DCOZ, which has created a myriad of digital transformation that resulted in reduced errors, a lighter workload for the Office, and direct benefits for DC residents and businesses. OST received this award for the creation of the Zoning Wizard and the Zoning Docs application (ZDocs). These products have greatly increased system-wide efficiencies, created a greener footprint, and opened access to the zoning casefile system to the public.
OST and the DCOZ earned a Public Sector Award Honorable Mention in 2012 for IZIS, which digitized an extensive paper filing system. Now in 2019, our ongoing dedication to the improvement of the DCOZ has resulted in the release of the Zoning Wizard, which guides public users to file cases in a “TurboTax” style wizard. This enables the public use of the system, where only attorneys could previously access the program. We are also proud to have implemented ZDocs, a mobile application for Zoning Commissioners and Bureau of Zoning Adjustment board members to get up-to-the-minute case information and documents for case hearings on their mobile devices instead of having to take paper copies that maybe outdated since they were last printed.
