HOW WE DO IT
OST uses a Performance-Based Logistics (PBL) approach that measures outcomes in terms of how the system meets desired performance parameters. This is more effective than traditional approaches which measures outcomes by counting things such as number of weapons and platforms repaired or tons of matériel moved. The PBL approach, which is currently being adopted across the US military, offers huge potential cost savings for customers. To maximize the benefits from PBL, OST uses the Balanced Scorecard approach to determine direction, specific initiative and needed funding, then applies Value Engineering methods such as lean six sigma, predictive modelling and analytics to continuously improve its programs. Furthermore, OST uses communications and organizational change management best practices in order to adapt its recommendations and practices to the customer’s culture in order to positively impact project performance.
