Washington, D.C., April 2019 – Optimal Solutions & Technologies (OST, Inc.) is providing support for the United States Air Force (USAF) Weapon System Management Information System (WSMIS), an end-to-end software system that helps Air Force personnel across the world track the lifecycle of aircraft parts and weaponry to accurately determine the availability of aircraft and logistics support for various missions. Data is managed through the SIPRNet (classified network) and NIPRNet (non-classified but secure network). WSMIS initiatives include the Global Combat Support System, Data Services Warehouse, and the Enterprise Service Bus.
Our personnel have more than 35 years of development and operational experience with the customer and OST has received exceptional customer performance ratings over the last five years. Our team completed 18 major enhancements and 124 change requests (enhancements), exceeding all scheduled deliverables 100% of the time and closing all help desk tickets within strict time requirements. OST enhanced the Operational Plans Process for Wartime, improved planning logic for repairs, expanded supply condition categories, and updated repair models, yet the online system was never down due to application failure.
During the last five years, OST has supported the migration from REALM Web to the Air Force Common Computing Environment (CCE) 2.0 AWS Cloud and will continue to migrate all WSMIS systems into this secure Cloud platform. Additionally, we will assist the customer with transforming the system lifecycle process from the traditional Waterfall methodology to a more Agile delivery environment.
Thanks to OST, the Air Force has access to real-time data on aircraft parts and weapons status. Operability allows immediate assessment of the numbers and locations of mission-ready aircraft, which is critical to evaluate deployment readiness.
